I live in Arizona, and grow in planters outside in winter. My broccoli gets to a couple small heads about the size of a golf ball, and goes to seed without making the big crowns you see in the store. Why is it doing this? Because of the short day? They grow it in winter anyway elsewhere. It's alot of effort for failure.

Sun, February 22, 2009 - 4:18 AMWell, it's cold outside at night, about 40-50, and gets to about 65-75 in the day so far. I water every day, so that's not it. I wonder if it's the short day in winter, or if the roots are cramped.
