Re: Morning glories - not!
Thu, August 23, 2007 - 7:00 PMWhat kind are they? When did you plant them? I put some in the ground late (end of june I think) and they are just putting off buds, they're covered in buds, but haven't quite flowered yet. Just have faith, it doesn't do any harm to leave them there. -

Re: Morning glories - not!
Fri, August 24, 2007 - 4:41 PMI had some Morning Glories go two moths w/o blooming and at the end of the summer they went nutz.
Some things my mom told me about Morning Glories is that 1) they do NOT like to be transplanted and 2) If you fertilize them it will delay the flowering process.
I hope that helps.

Re: Morning glories - not!
Sat, February 21, 2009 - 6:00 AMVery beautiful flowers. If you eat some of the seeds, they will be much, much more beautiful, lol. Quite psychedelic, in fact. -

Re: Morning glories - not!
Mon, February 23, 2009 - 12:22 PMDon't do this without a thorough soaking! Morning glory seeds possess a toxic chemical that will make you sick it you eat them dry. The chemical is converted when the seeds are soaked overnight and start to germinate (the same process one would use before planting to speed the growing process). If you don't do this before ingesting morning glory seeds, you'll most likely end up vomiting.
And I generally don't endorse eating morning glory seeds for psychedelic effects anyways, can't plants ever just be left to be beautiful on their own without people trying to figure out how to get high off of them? -

Re: Morning glories - not!
Tue, February 24, 2009 - 4:11 AMYou make it sound like it's a bad thing- somehow dirty and unethical. Many plants have astounding effects on the human body, and it's not about "getting high", as if that were somehow a crime anyway. I use Kava root, Kratom, valerian, and many other plants for their various effects. No, I do not smoke marijuana. No, I am not a stoner "looking to get high". Plants have many uses, and thier beauty is but one.
Who cares what you endorse?
